Live classical music for parents and babies
St. James' Church, Elmers End
Lullabies at Lunchtime is a new concert series devised by pianist Helen Reid, primarily for parents with young children and babies, though everyone is welcome. It is a space in which parents can come, without worrying about their babies making noise, to enjoy a varied concert of relaxing classical music. After a short concert, of around 30 minutes, coffee and tea will be served and the children (and parents!) are welcome to come and meet the musicians and to see the instruments closer up. Classical music has proven benefits for babies' brain development and there will be mats available around the space, in case children are happier to lie or sit to listen. Mothers are welcome to feed. In short, we hope to create a relaxed atmosphere where adults and children can enjoy beautiful music played by professional concert artists.
